Severe or excessive sweating is known as hyperhidrosis. It usually affects the hands, feet and underarms (axilla). It is a common condition that can affect both men and women.
What is the toxin injections treatment for Hyperhidrosis?
TOXIN injections have been used to treat wrinkles, but doctors are finding that it can be used successfully to treat hyperhidrosis. The TOXIN injections create a barrier for the sweat glands. Sweat will not be produced in the areas that have been treated with the anti-sweat injections. There is a 90% success rate for individuals that utilise the treatment for hyperhidrosis. One treatment can reduce sweating dramatically.
TOXIN is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. You cannot undergo this procedure if you are allergic to any of the ingredients inTOXIN or if you have a neuromuscular disorder or an infection at the injection site.
What can I expect at my appointment?
After cleansing the area to be treated, a numbing cream will be applied. This ensures the injections will only cause minor discomfort. Toxin will then be injected in the skin using tiny ultrafine needles in the area where excessive sweating takes place. The procedure takes a matter of minutes and is well tolerated by most individuals.
How long will the results last?
Within 5 to 7 days, the Injections will take effect, in which sweating in the area will subside. A single treatment will last up to 8 months.
